The dark winter nights are here and the Club has laid on a fantastic Festive Programme as always   Whether it is the Annual Dinner Dance, or Christmas Day, or the Kids Christmas Party or the Hogmanay celebrations, there is something for everyone. Thanks to all who came to the First Quiz night at the Club.  It went really well, albeit I think the music questions proved a little tough!

Thanks to Alistair Campbell for being an excellent quiz master, and to Andy Mallin for his help in "adding up".

Next up is the AM-AM , followed at night by the Champions league Final on the big screen.

There was another successful poker night, and this month we are trying a quiz night - come along for some fun!

11th May - the quiz runs from 8 until 10, and then enjoy the bar until midnight.

I am still looking for fresh ideas - so please let me know if you have anything.

You will have noticed that with the Champions League Final clashing with the AM-AM we have decided to push back evening entertainment aligned to the AM-AM into a competition later in the summer. Come along and watch the game.

February 2012 Update

Following the really Great Burns Supper in January the Mixed Burns Supper takes place on 24th February.  It promises to be just as successful, but there are still spare tickets - get them at the bar.

I am delighted to let you know that we now have a Facebook Page dedicated to Social Events.  It compliments this Blog and the Noticeboards, and is well worth checking out.  If you are not on Facebook, sign up, and search for Williamwood Golf Club Social.  You can then see emails/posts online whenever the pages are changed.  I hope it proves informative, and is available for 2 way communication.  Please give it a go.  I was a beginner to Facebook, and now realise that if all I use it for is the WGC Social site it will be worth while, and it is free!!!

January Update

The Annual Burns Supper was a great success with high quality speakers, singers, and some excellent piping.  With the Toast to the Haggis and Tam O'Shanter ably undertaken by our own Martin Baker and Ken Ralston.  A great night, and a special thanks to Captain Alex Martin for arranging the excellent speakers.
The next 2 events in February are the second Poker Night of the winter, and also the ever popular
Mixed Burns Supper.

The Poker night is on Friday 10th February, and you can book your place in the usual way by ringing the club or with an call to Les on 01416371783, or contact me on  mailto:pduncan@sky.com or 07879604402, or speak to Craig Armstrong or Graeme Love.  Alternatively just add your name to the list by the bar when you are in.

The Mixed Burns Supper is on Friday 24th February,  and is a great night. Tickets are on sale from the bar or by contacting the office in the usual way.  Get your tickets quickly as they go fast.
